When you click on that button, you'll see the option to download the video. From there the video should be available locally on your computer and you can upload it to your SharePoint site. Let me know if this works, I've managed to receive and successfully download the mp4 file for the MS Teams recording from my meeting.
Is there a way to download a file format compatible with Media Player or Edge? Also, if Edge is the new standard, why doesn't it support the most common video file format?

Given the amount of questions from users who simply desire to complete two steps, could MS office consider an easier process for busier than ever users of your products? Reducing additional time required to travel through these products and locations: OneDrive, Recordings, MS Stream would save time and no doubt make work life easier for humans.

The recording happens in the cloud, and is saved to Microsoft Stream, so you can share it securely across your organization. Everyone in the meeting is then notified that recording has started. When the meeting is over or the recording stopped, the recording is processed which could take awhile and saved to Microsoft Stream, and then it's ready to play.
The person who started the recording receives an email from Microsoft Stream when the recording is available. A drop-down menu will pop up. Select the Open option to play the recorded meeting.
